JEBCA was founded on December 11, 1983 as a faith-based cultural and charitable organization that served the community of Carrefour, Port-au-Prince as well as surrounding towns and villages. JEBCA is now incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in the United States under JEBCA Ministries, Inc and it is also registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs in Haiti under JEBCA D'Haiti.
Culture has been since 1983 what makes JEBCA, one of the surviving cultural icons, a beacon of light in the hearts and minds of so many people. Our membership roll is made up of successful professionals in every field of study. In the 1980's and 1990's, literary and cultural organizations such as JEBCA, played a pivotal role in providing a forum for aspiring writers and intellectuals to develop literary skills and critical thinking while also creating an environment that nurtured strong ethics and excellence in all aspects of life. We are also looking to partner with local organizations in other cities and towns to bring the conference to their local youths.
